History of Schnorenbergs

Schnorenberg's Floor Covering began when Clarence Schnorenberg purchased Koch's Cash Store in 1954. Clarence immediately converted the enterprise from a "dry goods" and floor coverings store into a full service floor covering business.

At that time the store front was located at 10 North Main Street in Hartford. The business expanded steadily until it eventually outgrew the facility on Main St. and Clarence moved the store in 1970 to its current location at 15 Mill Street.

By then Clarence's oldest son Jim, was working in the business, learning the trade. A few years later Gerry joined them, making Schnorenberg's truly a family business.

Over the years the three men shared the many responsibilities of running a business in today's marketplace. In 1980 Schnorenberg's was incorporated with Clarence, Jim, Gerry and Mildred Schnorenberg, Clarence's wife, as the principle officers. Clarence retired from the business in 1993.

Today Jim and Gerry carry on the tradition established in 1954. Attention to quality and good old fashioned hard work help the business grow and prosper.
